At NYU Langone, through the NYU Langone Academy, our Organization Development and Learning team is dedicated to providing engaging, robust, evidence-based professional development and leadership development programs. Individuals fill a variety of roles in an organization. For instance, individuals at all levels of the organization are “leaders of self,” as we are all responsible for living our values and holding ourselves accountable for excelling in our roles. “Leaders of others” supervise and manage, “leaders of leaders” head functions and departments, and “leaders of enterprise” are senior and executive leaders at the system level.

Our programs support faculty leadership and the organization in the following ways:

• by enhancing individuals’ leadership skills, competencies, and capacities
• by supporting individuals’ development in preparation for broader, more diversified, and more senior roles
• by building broad and deep leadership capacity to support the growing institution

Leadership Development Training

NYU Langone Academy encompasses all professional development and leadership development programs at NYU Langone, including onboarding and orientation programs, mentoring programs, instructor-led and eLearning courses, and other face-to-face and online resources.

We are currently in the process of reinvigorating our instructor-led leadership development programs and developing new programs to meet the needs of leaders at all levels. Current programs include Team Member Leadership Development Program (TLDP); Manager Leader Development Program (MLDP), a pilot program for early career faculty that will run again in an interprofessional cohort in fall 2020; and various custom programs for specific faculty populations. We also provide executive coaching for leaders and partner with external leadership development programs for select leader populations.
