Amy Rapkiewicz, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at the NYU Langone Medical Center, specializing in surgical and autopsy pathology. A native New Yorker, Dr. Rapkiewicz received her undergraduate degree from NYU and medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical School. She completed her Anatomic Pathology Residency Training at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD, and then continued her training in both Cytopathology at NYU and in Forensic Pathology at the Miami Dade Medical Examiner.
Dr. Rapkiewicz is heavily involved in teaching the pathology pre-clerkship course and also teaches human gross anatomy. She was a NYU Medical Center Teacher of the Year recipient in 2009, as well as a recipient of the Stowell-Orbison Autopsy Award in 2006. Currently, Dr. Rapkiewicz resides in Queens with her wife and 1 son.
