Bobbi was born and raised in Naples, Florida and graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science. During her time off before medical school, she taught full time high school biology at the high school she herself attended in Naples. At NYU, she has leadership positions in the Dermatology Interest Group, Harm Reduction Alliance, Oncology Club, Course Liaisons, and the New York City Free Clinic. She also conducts research on metastatic melanoma at NYU and through an IHP project in Madrid, Spain.

Sam Brusca

Sam is from Rockville, Maryland. He attended Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA where he majored in Neuroscience and was a member of the wrestling team. At NYU, Sam helps lead the Surgery Club and the Brothers and Sisters in Science (BASIS) Middle School Mentoring program. When not studying, he also helps coach wrestling with the non-profit Beat the Streets.

Jake is from Aurora, Ohio. He attended Kenyon College where he played baseball and majored in Biology. Jake is the oldest of four boys and has a passion for sports. He is currently involved in sports medicine orthopaedic research at the Hospital for Joint Diseases and is the research director for the MiniMeds program at NYU.

Mike grew up just outside Boston in Norwood, MA. He attended Johns Hopkins University and majored in Biomedical Engineering. Before NYU, he took a year off to continue a research project in type 2 diabetes at the Joslin Diabetes Center. At NYU, he is a leader of the GI club, and performing research in medical parasitology.

Emma is from Queens, New York. She graduated with a degree in Biology from Georgetown University in 2010. At NYU she is a member of the Bellevue Buddies, NYU Med Mentors and participates in research in radiology.

Asya Izraelit

Asya grew up in Forest Hills, NY. She graduated from Columbia University in 2009, where she double majored in Biology and Psychology. At NYU, she was co-President of AMSA, and on the board of several student organizations, including NYC Free Clinic, JSA, and HOPE. During the summer between MS1 and MS2, she traveled to Beijing as part of NYU’s International Health Program to conduct cervical cancer research. She is currently a clinical student, spending most of her time in the hospital/studying and cultivating her newfound interest in "foodie" things, including: cooking, reading about delicious dishes, and of course: eating!

Rachel was born and raised in Stony Brook, NY. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and majored in Biological Basis of Behavior with a minor in Health Care Management. After graduating in 2008, she joined Teach for America and taught 11th grade Chemistry for two years in Philadelphia. At NYU she is involved in the program HELP, that teaches GED students about topics in health literacy, serves as a co-chair for Patient Education at the NYC Free Clinic, and is on the board of the Dermatology Interest Group

Ashley graduated from Duke University in 2010 with a degree in Public Policy. At NYUSoM, she is involved in several clubs including Brothers and Sisters in Science, AMA, and Global Medicine. She also conducts clinical breast cancer research at Bellevue. In her free time, Ashley enjoys exploring NYC and cheering for the Blue Devils!

Kaitlyn grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota and graduated from Yale University in 2009. At Yale, Kaitlyn majored in political science and played on the varsity women's basketball team. Between college and starting medical school she worked as a clinical research assistant for an orthopedic surgeon in NYC. In her spare time, Kaitlyn enjoys traveling, working out and eating at all the great places in NYC.

Originally from Middletown, NJ, Jennifer double-majored in Psychology and History of Medicine at Yale University. After graduation, she spent a year teaching English at the University of Macau on a Fulbright fellowship. At NYU, Jennifer has been a leader in the Christian Fellowship, NYC Free Clinic, NYU SoM choir, and Caring for Kids, the pediatrics interest group. Outside of school, she enjoys trying out new recipes and exploring NYC!

Tyler was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and graduated from The Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in Environmental Engineering. He is interested in environmental health, working with research groups at NYU and Columbia University to study the health effects of arsenic exposure in Bangladesh. With a professional wine certification, he also works as a wine consultant in a Manhattan wine shop. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys life in New York and feeds his obsession with Florida State football.

Jenny is from Mamaroneck, NY. She attended Haverford College where she majored in Biology with a concentration in Biochemistry. Now at NYU, she is the Vice President of the Gastroenterology Club, participates in many of the teaching clubs including BASIS and HELP, and is involved in the Survivors of Torture Club. She also makes time to play on the Class of 2014 Girls’ Football Team!

Emi is from West Hartford, Connecticut and studied math at Pomona College in California. She spent a year teaching English in Japan after college and enjoys playing rugby and trying to dance salsa. She serves on the Student Council here. Currently, NYU’s support, she is taking a year off for research in Bolivia to study Chagas heart disease by doing interviews, EKGs, and blood draws on patients daily. She finds at NYU if there's an opportunity, you can and should run with it - Carpe Diem!

At NYU she began the HOPE club that collaborates with NYU undergrad's Relay for Life. She also volunteers through the Brothers and Sisters in Science club (BASIS) and is actively involved in the Business and Economics in Medicine club (BEAM). In her free time she enjoys cooking and exploring the city.

Said is originally from Havana, Cuba. He attended Emory University where he majored in Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology and minored in Music. At NYU he has served as the co-president of the Black and Latino Students Association and the Admissions Ambassador Program, and as president of the Painting Club. He took a year off to complete a master's program at the University of Cambridge, and returned to graduate with the class of 2014 and pursue a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Outside of school, Hersh’s number one passion is rooting for the Michigan Wolverines!

At NYU, Stasy has been volunteering and working as a clinical coordinator at the NYC Free Clinic. In the past she was also a volunteer at the Survivors of Torture Clinic at Bellevue Hospital. Stasy is currently on a research year, studying glaucoma in a visual sciences lab. She is going to apply to internal medicine residency in 2013. In her spare time, she loves spending time outdoors, trying out new restaurants and going to the theater.

Kseniya is from Staten Island, NY and went to college at NYU, where she majored in Spanish. While at NYU SoM, Kseniya traveled to Slovakia through the IHP program and was president of AMSA and Dermatology Interest Group. Currently, she is on a year off as a research fellow at the NYU Spine Research Institute, and is serving as a clinical volunteer at the NYC Free Clinic. She will be applying to anesthesiology residency next year. In her free time, Kseniya enjoys reading, visiting museums, exploring the city, and spending time outdoors.

Michael is from the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended Emory University where he majored in Political Science and Chemistry. After college he joined Teach for America and became a chemistry teacher at a high school in Brooklyn where he taught for two years. At NYU he continues to teach through the student groups HELP and Mini-Meds. When not studying he enjoys competing on the athletic field as well as experiencing all New York has to offer.
